Enabling new possibilities
The Jaco Blue Universal Interface unites people, cutting edge assistive tech, and essential life experiences. Combining legacy connection with new wireless Bluetooth, powered USB, and analog DB9 connections to make Jaco more accessible than ever before. Jaco Blue is a bridge between the end-user, their robot, their power chair, and ultimately the people around them and their environment. And we’re just getting started!
Jaco's movements mimic sixteen unique movements of the shoulder, elbow, and wrist with the smoothness and versatility of a fully functioning human arm. Mounted on your power wheelchair, you take full control using the chair’s joystick, head array, sip-and-puff, or almost any other interface. We know fitting through doors can be difficult, and in most cases, Jaco does not add any width to your chair. Our life-changing assistive robot helps you with everyday life, easily gripping objects, so you can pick up your keys or a glass of water, and open doors and press light switches. And yes, you can also eat with your Jaco, either by using the robot's fingers directly or by holding a utensil.
Jaco gives you a newfound sense of autonomy and improved quality of life. A robotic arm will help maximize your abilities and decrease your reliance on family members and care providers, letting you function at a higher level both at home and in your community. Since 2006, Jaco offers fundamental and life-changing improvements to users' lives by helping them perform many of the activities of daily living (ICF/ADLs).
It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that new things are suddenly possible!
Anyone living with a condition that limits their upper limbs in the performance of everyday tasks. Anyone can inquire about whether one of our assistive devices would be right for them, including individuals living with:
The Kinova OLED display provides users with a visual reference of the current modes and status of the robot. An ambient light sensor will make sure the screen brightness is always optimal while a LED indicator will give feedback on the current mode of operation, power, and connection status.
The Kinova Lift arm increases Jaco's vertical range and mounting flexibility. This allows users to drive up to desks and tables without interference. A swing-away mechanism lets you move Jaco out of the way temporarily to facilitate transfers into and out of the wheelchair.
From the day you reach out to us until the day you receive your new robot, a Kinova specialist will support you and your clinicians during the whole trial and funding process and will respond to all of your questions and concerns. And you can bet they’ll be by your side on the life-changing day in your life to install your very own Jaco robotic arm and teach you the extraordinary things you’ll now be able to do! We look forward to speaking with you.
